Description
I don't read Buffy. I don't much even like Buffy, to be perfectly honest. So it's probably no surprise that I had never seen much of Georges Jeanty's work until I was doing research for my sketch list for the 2010 Pittsburgh Comic-Con. When I saw his stuff, needless to say, I was both blown away and determined to try and get a sketch from him. When I met him at the show, I begged him for a full-body piece, which he agreed to do for me, if he found the time. As you can see, not only did he find the time, but he went far above and beyond my greatest expectation, creating for me my favorite piece from this year's convention. He even found a way to work Buffy (who was, in fact, inspired by Kitty Pryde, so I'm told) into the piece! I mentioned to him that I was really taken by the way he did her hair; it really reminded me of the way Paul Smith did it in the 80's (my favorite artist to render her, by the way). Apparently, it was intended that way...so the man's got both talent and good taste! Thanks, Georges--you totally Paul Smithed it!!! :D

I saw Georges work when he did Gambit for Marvel and liked it. I wasn't sure if him moving to Dark Horse was good but I figured it couldn't hurt. His style has evolved for the better and I hope he can leave them soon or have him work on something better. Too much time on project has an artist grow stagnant.

Beautiful piece, my friend!! I had the pleasure of meeting Georges at the NYCC last year, and he is indeed a very cool person.

Gorgeous piece. And Georges is an absolute sweetheart, no question.
