I still don't know where this one came from, but it's the first piece of comic art I bought. I got it at the SD con a few years back and haggled the guy down to (gulp) $45 bucks!
$45 BUCKS!! I'd never spent that much money on anything comics-related at that point, but I'd just landed a decent job and decided I'd splurge. It wasn't JLA, but it was a really great page from one of my favorite artists doing what he does best: facial expressions and snappy dialogue.
What I loved about seeing comic art for the first time (and still do) was being able to see the process involved. It's got whiteout and zip-a-tone and glued-on word baloons... the whole sh-bang!
