The Uniques issue 8 cover

This is the cover to Uniques #8: Decisions.

To be honest, we spent most of the time working this issue with no clue what we wanted the cover to look like. We felt like we needed to emphasize the division happening in the team, the tension between them all, and the somber tone of the issue. I had the idea of splitting Quake, Scout & Singe from the rest of the team somehow, but wasn't sure what the overall look of the cover would be.

We fell back on our art history knowledge for inspiration, and looked to Picasso's blue period. We dug up some images and I started getting ideas, and this is where it all led. It continues our stylistic explorations in cover art, which we like, but isn't very far removed from the overall look and feel of the comic, which is also important.

We'll never be James Jean, but this will do
