Description
Spectacular Spider-Man #1 black and white magazine that had a cover date of July 1968, the same month that Amazing Spider-Man #62 came out.

This page was pencilled by Jazzy John Romita Sr with beautiful inks and wash tones added by Jim Mooney.

Spectacular Spiderman #1 was Marvel's first attempt at publishing magazine sized comics and was printed in black and white.

The art page is about 10.25 inches high x 11.25 inches wide. Originally there was another panel at the top of this page, but the top panel was removed when the art was re-worked into 3 issues of the Amazing Spider-Man #116 to #118. See the scan of the published page as well as the scan of the classic cover to this magazine which is shown for reference.

Congrats Mark. The artwork on that pages is outstanding. The wash tones must really be seen to be appreciated. Mooney was in full stride on this issue!

Very cool! I remember being a 6 year old & buying this with all the $$ I had saved. John was in his Spider-Man prime then. Beautiful! I also remembered the missing top panel. I hope it surfaces & you get it one day.

Wow....those sublime Mooney ink stand out wonderfully even when the picture is still a thumbnail. Fantastic!
