Description
I picked up this awesome Dr. Doom Pin-Up directly from Bob Layton. He wrote on his web site:

"Way back when, I was asked by editor Al Milgrom to do a portfolio for Marvel Fanfare featuring all the metallic characters from the Marvel universe. This page was my first shot at Dr. Doom, which I abandoned after I realized that the background composition should be more technological than mystic, keeping more in line with the theme of the portfolio."

I just think it's cool that Dr. Doom plays with action figures!

Love this piece, and you actually stole my action figure line! LOL! But I might have to disagree with Bob about the background. Doom lives in a castle in Latveria, so this background seems very appropriate to me. Anyway, great piece! Congratulations!

Awesome. Very familiar swipe from FF 156 page 3 by Buckler and Sinnott posted on Daniel Casoria's site. As for the "Action figures" who would dare tell Doom that they lose value when removed from their original packaging? Not me bub ! ! !

Congrads Gary! Very cool piece. The only thing I see Layton should done differently. Is have Dr.Doom crushing Ironman's figure in his fist. The other figure should had been Reed Richards, The Thing or Sue Storm.

Crushing the Iron Man figure would have been cool!

Super cool! A great prime era Layton piece and it even has Iron Man in it! Bravo!
