So, every once in a while, as a collector, you find an up and coming artist and get him before he hits it big. This was one of those times.
I found Sean Murphy on Ebay back in 2001, and got him to do one of my first Spider-Man and Nightwing pieces. He was still in college at the time, and still willing to draw superheroes that weren't either Wolverine or Batman ;)
\Sean has gone on to do a Scarecrow mini, Hellblazer and Joe the Barbarian. Not only is his work great, but his peers really dig him. I initially asked Sean if he would ink this piece, but the interest wasn't there for him, which sucked, but I don't think he wanted to revisit a piece from so far in his past.
So, I went to a CAF staple, and a veteran of the Spider-wing gallery, Bob Almond. Bob was eager to do the piece and it shows. I love what he did with the background, and the piece turned out great. This may be one of those pieces that I have inked by multiple artists to see what they do with it.
