You know it;'s funny about Iron Man he just kind of grows on you or at least he did in the Silver Age. I loved the first armor design (I believe by Steve Ditko with the pointed mask). But not enough to buy the book regularly. Hey 12 cents was lot of money for a ten year old back then. But after Cap got the co-feature in Tales of Suspense I found myself with a gowning attachment for Tony Stark and the life we envied but would never trade for. Women, money out the Kazoo, the power of a Trump. And oh yeah a bum ticker that could collapse at any minute. The only thread to life, a slender cord plugged into an available electric outlet. Yeah baby you had to love Stan Lee back then. And let's not forget the artists who designed, redesigned and then designed again ,( lets forget the pointed nose) were wonderful, Heck Colan, Tuska, Craig, Layton... Oh my. So surprisingly while I never planned on collecting Iron man Art I found myself with some nifty pages. Even more surprisingly some of them are by a "new artist". Sean Chen draws a great Iron Man. So here's what I have picked up so far from the Invincible Iron Man. Enjoy. Grney This was a piece I picked up simply because it is my favorite Iron Man design. The simple elegance of the early Marvel stories and that great pointed mask! A very nice rendition of the early Iron Man by Ron Garvey. Enjoy!
