These are images from a cache of materials about Milton Caniff that Shel Dorf collected over the years. Dorf was one of the founders of San Diego Comic Con. He also lettered the Steve Canyon strip for Caniff during the '70s and '80s. The collection was assembled by long-time comics collector Bill Bush, who obtained the material from Dorf. It includes photos, production proofs, prints and correspondence to Caniff. I purchased the box of materials from Al Stoltz of Basement Comics. I'll post some unsual images from the collection from time to time.
