Smith, Sidney

Sid Smith was the extraordinarily popular cartoonist on the Gumps, and may have been the highest paid cartoonist at the time of his death in 1935. He signed a ten-year million dollar contract in 1935, and was killed in a car accident later that night after celebrating.
