He had me at the first "Hey winghead!" From that time on I was a huge Hawkeye fan. Orignally a character that went from misunderstood hero, to sap for love (Black Widow), to bad guy turned good, I wasn't sure what to think of Hawkeye. But Stan and then Roy turned the character around and made him my favortie Avenger. So I am always on the lookout for works featuring him. Some final thoughts. Kudos to Don Heck who designed his orignal costume that has for the most part with minor tinkering endured for so many years. Also do you thnk he would have been colored Purple and Black by Stan Goldberg if he had been designed to be more then an Iron Man villian? Stan G is on record as saying he used bright colors for heroes, bad guys got green, brown and purple. Finally, I thought and still think the only one who got Hawkeye's mask right was Heck and sometimes John Romita Sr. That is the one element of the costume that always changed depending on who drew him.
