My first exposure to the art of Frank Frazetta came in the summer of 1967 when I purchased the Lancer/Ace edition of volume 5 of the complete CONAN. The image on that 60 cent book was Frazetta's MAN-APE. Since then, I have been a devoted fan of the magical art of Frazetta, but I always believed that a piece of art from the greatest artist of comics and fantasy art was beyond my means. Therefore I am beyond ecstatic to have won a superb Frazetta daily strip from JOHNNY COMET at the recent Heritage Signature auction. This strip features Johnny in all three panels and his gorgeous girlfriend Jean Fargo in two panels. A classic example of Frazetta's genius with pen and ink. Frank often used photo references in his work and the third panel of this strip looks much like this pic of Frank. It's not a 100% match but it's close.
