Gluyas Williams (1888-1982) was a wonderful cartoonist and longtime contributor to the New Yorker. Williams was known for his high contrast fine-line work, almost always done with such delicacy. His sequential work is reminiscent of H.M. Bateman's cartoon, the great British cartoonist. Williams did work in newspaper strips, running under different titles, the most well-known being Suburban Heights.
