Avengers

The Mighty Avengers! I read the first story in a drug store. I read the fourth issue in another drug store. I bought the 5th issue with a third of the cover ripped off and when I viewed the cover to issue six and saw the combination of Jack Kirby and Chic Stone on earth’s mightiest heroes I bought my first Marvel and became a huge fan. The Avengers are my favorite Marvel super group and I have loved them with all of their lineup changes (well, until the original series stopped) and assemblage of artists. My goodness, what a list, Kirby Heck, Ayers, Wood, Tuska, the brothers Buscema, Adams, Smith, Starlin, Cockrum, Brown, Buckler, Newton, Palmer, Giacoa, Golden, Ryan, Epting etc . My goodness, can you image the privilege of owning pages with work by some of the aforementioned artists? Well I can dream, here are a few pages featuring some of the greats who have brought Marvel’s mightiest to your drug store, your newsstand and yes your comic store each and every month. Ah, the good ole days when a monthly was actually a monthly. Enjoy!
