Rafael DeSoto Brings the Spider back to life after the final pulp issue.

Original unpublished oil painting Rafael DeSoto did for me in the 1980's. He called it, "Richard Wentworth... Master of Men." It was done in his Blask Mask Pulp style. Very realistic and cool. The Spider really looks wonderful . For me it’s like seeing an old friend. I have to thank my old friend and pulp historian Bob Sampson for his help at the time. I did several interviews with Rafael and Bob got me to ask everything he ever wanted to know I still have all of his letters and I have to admit he was the most clever writer I ever knew. Maybe sometime I’ll add bits and pieces of his correspondence. I let my friend Ed Hulse do an article on Rafael DeSoto in one of his Blood and Thunder magazines and he used this as the cover.
