Paying my belated respects to a page of comic history. Museum level
Those few Buscema - Buscema issues early on in the run were just perfect art wise. Great example!
That was indeed a great run! excellent example from a very talented artist
Perfect Byrne IF page with great vilalins. Well chosen
Classic Claremont page! Again, stunning storytelling by Silvestri. Such great talent. We need him on interiors work asap!
I agree with the above comment. Silvestri might be mostly known for action and beautiful women, but he is a fantaastic storyteller
Classic Perez splash with lovely inks by Grainger, especially on The right panel. Great piece from a great run
Amazing how much Silvestri's style has evolved Over time. I wish he did more books!
Such dramatic page. Portacio's high levels are...truly high!
It was my pleasure to help you secure this piece. Being able to admire the art for a few days was an extra bonus. The piece is absolutely exquisite in person, the backgrounds are particularly impressive. Adams magic! Well done!
Hitch really puts a lot of effort in these commissions. I like the fact that he always studies ways to have very large images of the heroes!
So historical and so beautiful - and the two things do not necessarily go together. Excellent pick-up!
That's some serious cross-hatching. Possibly the most iconic shot from that series
This is sooo Kirby. I know the purists will frown but '70s Kirby is my favourite!
Janson is so good that almost everything he touches becomes ...Janson. He gave a lot of depth and nuance to Sal's clean pencils. Great example !
Those Perez Marcos are gold - I would say Byrne Austin gold. And so rare to come by. Huge congrats for recovering one nice example !
Fantastic commission , this is top quality Cockrum !
As good as it gets for Silver Age Kirby
It is incredible how Art Adams was so influential with just one mini series and two special editions (the Agardian Wars two-parter). This page shows why a full generation of young artists were inspired by him!
A piece of comic history. UXM 268 was the pinnacle of the run.
When I look at Wood art, there is always the same adjective that comes to mind: "classy" (ok maybe not on some of his late, racy stuff). This page is perfect, with panel 5 being Liechtenstein worthy
The comic was so good, intelligent writing and stunning art. This is a great testament to that series
Excellent page , it does have that distintive Sienkiewicz feel to it, regardless exactly who did what
Jae Lee's talent was pretty clear right from the start! Great example of his early start
Great page from a great run. Defenders 1-50 was an amazing book.
Stunning rendition of one of Marvel's most interesting characters visually
Just stunning. Those early, few issues inked by Sal were just perfect.
Love this page! I am big fan of Psylocke's armoured persona
Anything from that run is pure gold. Great pick-up!
Love the inks and the use of zip-a-tone or whatever it is. Great, classic Marvel Silver age
Simonson and Batman...an unusual pairing, the result is fantastic. Congratulations!
Those Gerber issues were fantastic. Love the Defenders line up from that time , great B characters !
The inking on this one is true work of art
I used to own this page and am so glad it went to a good home. And BTW the Skorpio storyline was so good. Excellent choice you made there!
I am partial to Jim's run on Uncanny, but Hush was just perfect. Great example from peak Lee!
Stupendous piece from one of the true modern masters. He is missed
Alan Davis was perfect right from the start. Great exaple of his craft
Not familiar with this artist but I can see there is a lot of talent there!
Classic storyline, Pollard knocked it out of the park in this one. And of course stellar inks
Davis is so good at these sequences focusing on interactions among characters. Great example
Not sure about the context, in any case stunning piece
