Are you referring to the pencil prelims to the finished Deadbone's and Cheech strips? Or finished marker strips? If you were meaning Mark had little pencil sheets like what I posted, this is not a preliminary. This is literally the 1st ever drawing of Cheech Wizard done by Vaughn on his little steno note pad on September 27th, 1957. This is just the 1st sheet for the 6 sheet 'strip'.
Unfortunately, the family really doesn't have much of Vaughn's work any longer. The vast majority has been sold/given away over the years.
Lolz. You clearly haven't been around very long. You'll learn... hopefully not the hard way.
I recall you telling me that you could never see yourself selling a 'chunk' of your collection to buy a single piece. You didn't do it to acquire the page you wanted in heritage where the playing field was level. Now, with the deck stacked against you, you go ALL IN?!?! LIAR!!!!!!! Congratulations, you truly have lost your mind. :p
So, YOU outbid me on this! Great piece, Brian. Lucky Dawg...
Hadn't seen this before now... very lucky of you to get an in-person sketch from Miller. Something he almost never does anymore. Very cool!
I would happily pay $20K for the Killing Joke page that sold in Heritage. :p In fact, there are many pages from KJ that I would pay $20K for! PLEASE SELL THEM TO ME!
How did you ever find such a rare and great piece? The seller must have lost his MIND! You Lucky Dawg!
This is very cool, Jon! I've been collecting Funny Pages for nearly 20 years - still need about 10 to complete the run... nice to see something like this. Shame none of the original cover exist?
I think batman and mankuta are both going to be jealous of not being invited to this little get-together... especially if there are gerbils involved.
Now that's a good one. What did Miller sell this one for way back when? $200? Probably a decent deal.
Is that an arrow to point me in the right direction, or? Either way, it's HOT!
This is a 'Once in a Life Time' - Gibson. We may never see another become available of this quality.
Just a little more practice and you will have surpassed Mike Hooffman! I'm 33 and wish I could draw this well now! Keep working at it!
