Had the pleasure of seeing this in person and it's just simply jaw dropping. I've been a Bolton collector for many years and this is by far his best of the best! The line work and detail is just amazing. HINT: I will always have a place for it on my wall !!! Congrats on a stunning piece.
OK, Does that mean I have to wait 20 years now??? What really got my jaw to drop was that I knew Berni did Batman Illo's in the 80s but this was done in 78, and in color!!!! Albert, I must say that you sure can keep a secret!!!
What a wonderful piece from one of my favorite flicks. The pencils, inking and the layout is impeccable. If you ever feel the need to move it give me a chance to give it a good home. Wonderful addition to your already storehouse of treasured art.

Not only is this a great cover but I know the joy you have on getting it back. I've been on the lookout for 14 years for a piece I had to sell at that time. I remember that this cover was one of the late Bruce Lowry pride and joy pieces. He always brought this out to show it off. And no wonder. It still is something to behold! Congrats on adding this gem to your wonderful collection.
So glad it went to a real fan and collector instead of just somebody who just wants to use it for "trade bait" or to trying just to make a profit on. This is a wonderful piece to see in person and looking at it you know that John drew it with a deep love he has for the Batman. Love everything about this piece (the city background that lies underneath the crouching Batman, what the Bat is sitting on along with the movement of the cape, shows a very serious and intense Batman, along with it being a very clean piece with not a bit of whiteout, etc) and I would consider this to be your top Byrne piece in your wonderful Byrne Bats commissions. Enjoy my friend and I know it has found a home for a very, very long time.
A wonderful piece. Love the fact that it's a very detailed pencil (not just a sketch) and the way Biz drew the hands ! The influence that Frazetta has had on Simon is clearly seen here.

STUNNING!!!!. What else is there to say but just STUNNING!!!! I wish Finch would be the D.C. Bats artist for a while since he brings such emotion (Intinsity, darkness, gracefulness all at the same time) to the character. Of course, the addition of the cross to me is a big addition.
