I'm getting offers so, yeah I guess I'll be moving some pieces. Just not sure which ones yet.
I agree. Not only Kirbyesque, but one of the funniest comics out at the time. Busiek really had fun with the fact that, for the most part, these characters couldn't stand one another.
This doesn't appear to be the version used for printing. There's lots of differences between this and the actual cover art. I was curious if this was a recreation or perhaps this was the first pass and editorial made some changes. Just wondering.
I love John Severin's art on Westerns, but he was not cut out for inking superhero books. You can read my detailed analysis on Trimpe and his inkers here: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=20477
Thanks. I think it's still the best RM story we ever did. it's a shame the character never really caught on.
My memory is lousy for these things, but I believe it Gen-13 #3. I did three part back-up story and I think it ran in issues 3-5.
Thanks Tony. It's definitely the hidden gem in Kirby's later FF work.
This is awesome. You have, without question, the most diverse gallery I've seen on CAF. Great stuff!
I only buy Trimpe Hulk pages inked by Jack Abel or Trimpe himself. Trimpe was cursed with a slew of bad or inappropriate inkers while on the Hulk, but, Jack Abel just looked great over him.
You're right. I inked Jim only a few times and this was the only time I ever got it right. I actually asked Jim if I could have the orginal back, which I'd never done before or since. It was very cool of him to say yes when he didn't have to.
Yeah, Battle Chasers was a hell of a lot of fun. The best of the Cliffhanger books and Joe was just a pleasure to ink.
Lol...plus just two issues earlier it was established that the Hulk can hold his breath under water for over an hour, so I hope Aquon brought a book to read...
It's the comic that hooked me on comics. My favorite single issue of my favorite character. I looked everywhere for the cover to this book.
Thanks Frank. IMHO it's Trimpe's best splash on his entire run.
