Terry Shoemaker Comic Book Illustrator
Terry Shoemaker's Bio: Terry drew at an early age because his brother, Greg, challenged him. Terry and Greg would draw competitively while collecting comic books. In 1980, Terry's Golden Gladiator was his first created and published comic character. It was written and drawn for the Newfoundland Herald located in Canada. In 1981, Terry tried out working 9-5 in an office. He drew military manuals and illustrated such things as how to change a tire on a Blackhawk helicopter and how to throw a grenade. In 1982, Terry met Dick Giordano at the San Diego Comic Convention. Karen Berger contacted Terry and he was featured in DC's New Talent Showcase. Terry then was penciller on Tales of the Legion of Superheroes (TLS). Keith Giffin spent time with Terry and he recommended Terry for TLS. Terry penciled over some of Keith Giffin's layouts for Legion. In 1984, Carl Potts recruited Terry to work for Marvel Comics.Terry visited Marvel Studios in New York where he met Walt & Louise Simonson, Bob Harras, and Bobbie Chase. Terry worked for Marvel as a penciller, inker and Cover artist. In 1995, Jim Lee hired Terry to work at Image in La Jolla, California.
