DescriptionThe Off The Road story concludes with this 5th part. Shade, The Changing Man #25 was Peter Milligan's reinvention of the Steve Ditko character Shade. The art here is an incredible mixed media piece loaded with pop mythology by longtime cover and (sometime interior) artist Brendan McCarthy. His use of paint and collage for this SHADE cover gives a haunting effect to this seminal D.C. Comics VERTIGO book. The late 80's and early 90's launched so many great British artists (and writers like Shade's Peter Milligan) here in the U.S. comic book market. Paint, ink, gouache and collage on paper (9 x 14 inches - CM: 23 x 35.5), excellent condition. |
