DescriptionCheck out this very nice BRONZE AGE 1976 LARGE ART DRAWN page, which was penciled and inked, with great wash tones added, by the great Gonzalo Mayo, from the classic Vampi story titled: "Dr. Wrighter's Asylum of Horror!" This nice page features Vampirella checking out....THE BLOOD BALL! The top and bottom tier were cut and placed onto another board and everything is oversized drawn art. Bronze Age Gonzalo Mayo Vampirella art is red hot in the hobby. Compare this great page to the published comic book page in the red link above. It fascinates me how from growing up in the 1970s as a kid with little money, I had to work on my paper route to have funds to buy all of the comics I loved as a kid. And growing older I was able to buy more expensive comics as I saved my money while in the U.S. Army at West Point from 1985-1989 and I was able to finally buy my very first pages of comic art in 1989 and it has been an unbelievable roller coaster ride ever since that point trying to find the Amazing Spiderman #1-297 pages and Spiderman strip art from 1-3-1977 to 11-9-1980 I love so dearly and covet!! |
