DescriptionCheck out this CLASSIC 1965 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN page, which was penciled and inked by the ICONIC STEVE DITKO, from the ever classic story titled: "Man on a Rampage!" On this HISTORIC page we see Peter Parker in 8 of 9 panels, J. Jonah Jameson in 5 Panels, with Betty Brant & Ned Leeds in 5 great panels, as Peter uses his super strength to knock Ned Leeds into a wall on purpose in the hopes that Betty Brant will break up with him completely as he realizes he can never have Betty Brant because of him being Spider-Man! We also see classic JJJ panels with him dogging Peter for taking crappy photographs and refusing to pay him a dime for the pics! AMAZING SPIDER-MAN was the greatest soap opera EVER in comics in the 1960's and early 1970's, and it "IS" the only comic art in the HISTORY OF COMIC ART COLLECTING where "CHARACTER PAGES" (with the side characters only) are as sought after and cherished by collectors as much as the Spider-Man battle pages! It fascinates me how from growing up in the 1970s as a kid with little money, I had to work on my paper route to have funds to buy all of the comics I loved as a kid. And growing older I was able to buy more expensive comics as I saved my money while in the U.S. Army at West Point from 1985-1989 and I was able to finally buy my very first pages of comic art in 1989 and it has been an unbelievable roller coaster ride ever since that point trying to find the Amazing Spiderman #1-297 pages and Spiderman strip art from 1-3-1977 to 11-9-1980 I love so dearly and covet!! |
