Check out this pretty incredible 1955 Wally Wood LARGE Art E.C. story, featuring Wally Wood's incredible art and storytelling. This nice story features Burt who longed for the day when he would be invited to be a pilot during World War 1 instead of being in the horrid, muddy trenches on the ground. He finally gets his chance. Unfortunately, he doesn't know is that he is replacing a downed and killed pilot, Lt. Blackton, whose locker he now inherits! The pages were created in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with each page having a drawn image area measuring 13" x 18" on much larger art board. It fascinates me how from growing up in the 1970s as a kid with little money, I had to work on my paper route to have funds to buy all of the comics I loved as a kid. And growing older I was able to buy more expensive comics as I saved my money while in the U.S. Army at West Point from 1985-1989 and I was able to finally buy my very first pages of comic art in 1989 and it has been an unbelievable roller coaster ride ever since that point trying to find the Amazing Spiderman #1-297 pages and Spiderman strip art from 1-3-1977 to 11-9-1980 I love so dearly and covet!!
