DescriptionCheck out this outstanding VERY LARGE DRAWN cover, which was penciled and inked by the great John Romita Sr, from the story titled: "The Nightmare Box!" This RARE and LARGE DRAWN cover features John Romita drawing his 2 EARLIEST Marvel Superhero titles he worked on in 1965 and 1966: DAREDEVIL and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN! This great cover features The Amazing Spider-Man, Daredevil, The Thing, and Shang-Chi all trying to stop the giant Man-Thing in New York City! Just a great cover which was drawn on thicker vellum and placed onto board, with an image area measuring 13.2 by 19.75 inches, on 14.5 by 21.5 inch art board! The word balloons were placed on an acetate overlay, and the acetate can be lifted up to see a lot more great art drawn under the word balloons in the extra red link above. It fascinates me how from growing up in the 1970s as a kid with little money, I had to work on my paper route to have funds to buy all of the comics I loved as a kid. And growing older I was able to buy more expensive comics as I saved my money while in the U.S. Army at West Point from 1985-1989 and I was able to finally buy my very first pages of comic art in 1989 and it has been an unbelievable roller coaster ride ever since that point trying to find the Amazing Spiderman #1-297 pages and Spiderman strip art from 1-3-1977 to 11-9-1980 I love so dearly and covet!! |
