This is it. My other hobby. For the longest time, I read comics for the stories; I thought that the art was largely secondary to a quality story. But, as I got a bit older, I started to notice that my buying habits followed artists and not just writers. The reality is that the medium of comics - to me - is fantastic because there really is something for everyone; moving artists [and writers] from book to book exposes readers to different creative teams, ideas and characters. The reality is, to me, that when I find an artist I really like - someone who is into his/her craft - the art gives weight to the story.
So most of the art I have collected is art from books that I read by artists whose interpretations have given weight to the characters they are drawing. That, and it looks really good framed.
