Hi there, fellow comic book art collector! Welcome to my gallery of original comic book art! I was a typical kid from the eighties ... I grew up with the Kenner Star Wars toys and the Marvel comic books ... I've always been a fan of the Star Wars movies & I've been collecting the toys for many, many years ... In 2004 I bought my first piece of original comic book art ... at the time I was really surprised that the original drawings were available on the 'open market', I always believed they were stored in some giant vault at the Marvel offices in New York City! Of course, the art from the different Marvel series were immediately my main interest. After a while I got some pieces, but there was no 'system' in my collecting ... I thought it over & decided on the following ... I was going to focus on the original Star Wars series that Marvel produced in the late seventies & early eighties (107 issues + 3 annuals), including the spin-offs Return of The Jedi, Droids & Ewoks series ... This was going to be my ultimate collection! Besides Star Wars, another Marvel character deserved my attention ... He was my favorite superhero when I was a kid & he will still be my favorite superhero when I move into a retirement home decades from now ;-) I'm speaking of course about the one and only Spider-Man! Since he's been around longer than I have, I've decided to focus on the Spidey comics that were published in the eighties ... they are: • The Amazing Spider-Man • Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man • Web of Spider-Man. I especially like the period around when Secret Wars was released (mid-eighties) ... that was a big thing back then and of course it brought along my beloved black Spider-Man suit ... I just LOVE it! Since the Marvel Universe is so large, occasionally some original art from other series find their way into my collection as well ... I enjoy this hobby very much, and I hope to do so for years to come! Nuff said! Excelsior!
