Long time collector of comics since the 1980s, and even earlier. Nostalgia from spinner rack purchases at 7-Eleven and at pharmacies with my father. My collecting interest morphed into original comic art starting in 2006, and moved into more unique and esoteric comic and pop culture interests. I have particular love for more obscure and less appreciated B-level characters in the world of comics. Characters and teams like Deathlok, Swamp Thing, Jonah Hex, OMAC, and the Freedom Fighters and Doom Patrol captured my curiosity.
Some of my true artist favorites are Jim Steranko, John Byrne, Jim Lee, Rich Buckler, Mike Nasser/Netzer, Marke Texeira, Joe Staton (during his All-Star Comics run), Dick Dillin (Justice League of America), Alex Nino, Stephen Bissette, and Berni Wrightson. The best part of original art collecting is the hunt for these one of a kind treasures, as well as learning more about the overall hobby and these talented individuals. What an addicting and hard hobby to control, so why bother!
