Although I've been a fan of comics since I was a wee lad, I didn't acquire my first original art page until I was in college. I would pick up a page or two whenever it was convenient, but rural New England was not exactly a hotbed of artist (or dealer) activity.
After a long lull, I met Drake Tungsten at figure drawing sessions. Seeing his impressive collection got me fired up to add to my own.
I am amazed by the vast spectrum of art that is available. With every piece being a one-of-a-kind, it is a very different dynamic compared to collecting comics. Fortunately for me, many pages from stories I love are still affordable.
