Description

I have very fond memories of buying this page, as I had just started my first "real" job two weeks earlier. I had no budget, a low salary and a tidal wave of school loans looming in six months but I knew I was going to walk away with a Cerebus page.

I bought it at ACE, the Alternative Comics Expo, held in Manchester, VT in the summer of 1995. It was part of the Spirits of Independence tour and featured a couple of rooms packed with indy cartoonists.

Dave and Gerhard had a table covered with art, a hundred bucks a pop. I wish I had just handed them my credit card and said, "Leave me enough money to buy gas for the way home."

Instead I selected what I thought was the nicest single page. Can't go wrong with a Gerhard moon!

Beautiful page. "I am not Tarim", I remember the line so weel. When reading it, I thought "If he is not Tarim, it means that the story is heading in some very strange place". And it did, am I wrong? I agree with you about the fact that the Moon surface is probably one of the best proof in the whole series of the incredible Gerhard skills. And I KNOW how you feel when you get yourself your first Cerebus page - great feeling.

As you say 'you can't go wrong with a Gerhard Moon' and Sim's work on this page is not too bad either. A beauty!

Nobody could accuse Gerhard of hacking it out for a paycheck! Beautiful page, exquisitely rendered, with tremendously cool story content!
