Welcome to this Gallery dedicated solely to the works of Paul Cuvelier ( 22 November 1923 Lens, 5 july 1978 Mont-sur-Marchienne ).In the preface to an exhibition in Brussels, Museum of Arts 1990, Cuvelier was described as : ' A prodigy, coming from the same brilliant line as that of Mozart, Rimbaud and Picasso.' Quite a statement isn't it ? Yet other experts wrote about this artist in similar terms. Jaques Martin, for instance, repeated over and over again, that Cuvelier's line of drawing was equal to Rafael's line of drawing. The truth of these bold statements I cannot verify, but I can show on this site many unpublished works of this highly gifted and much underrated -and in a way also tragic- artist. I plan to update this Gallery on a regular basis. Not one single work in this gallery will be for sale, but in case you want more information, or better photographs ( I am not much of a photographer ) ) do not hesitate to contact me.
