Hillmer, Jonathan

Jonathan Hillmer is an artist and teacher who works in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a youngster, he began drawing in earnest, drawing his own comic books and writing his own stories. He drew inspiration from John Byrne during his run on the Uncanny X-men in the 1980's and George Perez through his work on the Avengers and then the Teen Titans. Jonathan discovered his love of teaching almost by accident. Between jobs, he took advantage of a volunteer Artist-in-Residence position at his old high school. Through that position and his interaction with high school students, he discovered his passion for teaching and instructing art. His art focuses on realism of subject with attention paid to detail and value and form.
