I'm truly sick and tired of Ari's luck in scoring PERFECT commissions!!! (smile) This is not my favorite Cap costume, but it is one of my favorite Cap drawings. I've always said JB is to drawing Captain America, what Curt Swan was to drawing Superman.

Interesting piece. Golden Age Captain America? Not so sure. The A on his mask seems different than the Golden Age one (I don't remember or have a reference handy). The Shield is great. Okay, I ran to dig out the nearest reference I had to the Golden Age: Marvel's excellent two volume "The Gold Age of Marvel Comics" and no, this is not exactly the Golden Age Cap. Is it some variation of a Generations Captain America? I love it.

There are characters that John has more of a feel for than others, of course (Dr. Doom comes to mind) and Cap is one of them. Not my favorite costume but a great Cap none the less. Captain America in John's hands as both writer and artist would be depicted as he should be, something some writers seem to have a difficult time with.

WOW ! I love the Golden Age ! This Cap piece was an incredible coice for a commission. The only thing missing is the Tommygun that he used carry around on all those old Schomburg covers
