One of the BEST Thor pics in a long, long time! Makes me want to give JB a shot at the THOR title on a monthly basis! I love the RAW ENERGY that comes from the drawing, particular from Thor's face and the hammer head.

I remember reading Byrne said he felt his work wasn't "big" enough for Thor. This sure shows otherwise. Like JKFW Byrne would do a wonderful Thor series and I would imagine, like with JKFW, a wonderful back-up ... let's called it Tales of Asgard. Byrne even has the Kirby-fingers down here. Beautiful.

I normally do not add comments to commissions or professional sketches, but this rendition of Thor harkens back to the final page splash that John and Pablo did for Avengers 165. While this commission does not have the action that this splash did, it still very impressive with the emotion that this piece emits. Congrats!

I also think John underestimates his abilities to properly depict Thor. I always thought John's art on Thor in Marvel Team-Up and Avengers was powerful and graceful and I could see an Adams influence (as opposed to Kirby) in his Thor, especially in the arms, face and hair. And that would be NEAL Adams.

It seems like Byrne favours you personally because your commission (each and everyone of them) are so INCREDIBLE!!!(damn it...Jealous).When ever i get stuck artistically i would visit Lars Teglbjaerg for his EC art collection (especially Wood & Craig) and yours for your AMAZING Byrne collections for inspirations (works everytime).For example this Thor here WOW!!!,Love the intensity.Thanks for sharing be back soon.
