I was waiting to see if you were going to post this. Thanks for pulling some of these amazing pieces of art out of your garage or basement or wherever you've been hiding them, lol. I can't wait to see what other wonders you're keeping secret.

Hard to believe that Buscema drew this five decades ago. The guy was a master, and the Kree-Skrull War was arguably the most influential Avengers storyline to date. Not just because elements of the story are constantly being revisited, but because it helped usher in the change to longer, more complicated superhero stories for the remainder of the 1970s and beyond. Owning a page from this story is owning a true piece of comic book history. Owning the opening splash to the final chapter? I can't put it into words.
I also want to point out that my phone keeps autocorrecting "Kree" to "Kerr". Steve Kerr was a good basketball player and an excellent coach, but the Skrulls would demolish him.

Michael Jordan would not have trusted a Skrull to make a game winning shot in clinching Game 6 of the '97 Finals against the Utah Jazz with 28 seconds left on the clock.

That is true. After his experiences with Space Jam, Jordan had an intense distrust of aliens.

So glad Rick Jones survived this encounter as I fondly remember him as "Yoffy" the star of the classic 1970s BBC Kids TV programme Fingerbobs. Never new he once hopped dimensions. Good show Rick Jones.

I love the posture and use of foreshortening on Rick Jones, comicdom's best sidekick of all time. Buscema's figures were always so loose and natural, which came from a lifetime of drawing from life and constantly sketching even in his free time and resulted in making him one of the all-time best artists the comics industry has ever had. Palmer's embellishing over Big John's pencils, layouts or breakdowns combined to produce one of comicdom's supreme artistic teams, as both of them elevated the art form on their own and when they combined forces, they packed an even bigger punch than the combined might of all the heroes and villains they illustrated. A classic page!

Super beautiful title splash from a super classic duo of artists. I love any cosmic adventure. This one is specially beautiful with a great villain, the tyrant of the Negative Zone! Superb! Congrats

Amazing title splash! Big John has really captured that zero-gravity look for Rick - as well as a superb expression of anxiety about Annihilus. Palmer's inks are just gorgeous. That's an epic piece to own.

Spectacular title splash by an incredible artistic team! But my question is, how big is the Negative Zone? Because the moment anyone enters it, theeeere's Annihilus (always looking pissed off as well). Either there's only one entry with Annihilus perpetually camped out there with a pup tent and some s'mores, or that realm is actually the size of my very first studio apartment.

As a Neal Adams freak back in the day, I remember the first time reading this issue. I opened it to this first page and thought, aw man, what happened to Neal????? Of course that lasted about five seconds, because I was a huge Busceman/Palmer fan too. There's nothing that makes a hidden gem shine brighter than sharing it with the world. Thanks for honoring us with this beauty.

This is so special. Coming after Neal Adams' incrdible run this could so easiy have been an anticlimax, but John and Tom easily matched the previous issues for quality and excitement. This splash feels so iconic now.

Historic, I guess so, but who cares? I certainly don't. But what a dramatic composition with brilliant execution by John Buscema. Congrats.

We've only just begunnnn...Somehow, I don't think godhood is ending here. This is a masterpiece showcasing both of their skills. Layouts, rendering, inking, zipatone. A kitchen sink page of talent, if you will. Gorgeous. Huge congrats!

Love title splashes from the time! All of the same elements without the cover premium bump. Usually :) Annhilus is one of favorite villain designs, too. Just flat out works. Congrats, Marcus!

You never watched dealmakers episode 1 and 2? I was told I was too hard on them, so I switched to being a Jesse Ventura to root for them no matter what in the later episodes. When they return, I'll be their greatest fan.

A-ha, I've seen that Rick Jones figure "borrowed" a few times since... a master class in draftsmanship and dynamic figure drawing. Very memorable page from a very memorable and classic storyline.

Awesome opening page of this incredible book. Hard to believe this was done in a hurry to finish the story, but with two titanic talents like John and Tom you should not have been surprised. One of the first book I got on a regular basis in Paris along with FF#120. I was dazzled to see they were both drawn by my all time favorite artist Big John Buscema. This issue remains as one of the best because of the guys but also because of this magic instant engraved in my memory. I still remember clearly when I picked up the book and opened it to see this first page. Congratulations for this stunning piece of history !
