DescriptionI heard it was the right time to post some Paper Girls artwork by Cliff Chiang. It's young Erin who has time traveled to the future giving her older self a surprise hug. Her older self's life is such a mess that young Erin thought she needed it.Issue 7 came out July 6, 2016. A few weeks later in SDCC Cliff Chiang appeared at Felix's booth. I only brought issue 1 with me to get signed as no artwork had been released from the series. While I was talking to Cliff, I mentioned how I liked the reveal, left page splash from the latest issue, how it was set up so well in the prior pages to be the emotional high point so far in the series. Then Felix walked up behind Cliff and started mocking me for being such a fanboy and asked me if the page made me cry. I think I might have needed a hug from my younger self or cried right there. I bought this from the Felix drop a few months later and it had the Cliff Chiang signature already. I brought it back to San Diego this year to get it signed by Brian K Vaughan at Felix's booth. Very charming story moment. The arches remind me of white picket fences...symbolizing a sense of safety and going back home. Or I could be toatlly off! :D

I can't read your description because I'm waiting on my library to get me the copy of Paper Girls I've been waiting on and don't want spoilers. I did catch the part where you said the girl comes back from the future to giver herself a hug and that's already more than I want to know before I read it. The art is very lovely though, congratulations on procuring it!

Gorgeously-staged piece, Marcus; I absolutely love how the uneven arches give the feeling of unbalance to the image, and then the building / structure behind them on the left pulls it all back to center. Love the emotional honestly on display, too - not sensationalized or over the top, just... true. A very honest emotional timbre (which is always the cornerstone of brilliant storytelling). Man, now I'm getting weepy. :) Congrats, Marcus - great piece!

It's the quiet moments in this story that are most wonderful. Great page.

Cliff is a modern master. I love the acquisition story, although I didn't realize Felix was so mean. : ) Congrats on getting the accompanying signature this year!

What a touching moment and I love the story you gave. I think we all need to take a moment from time to time and reflect on how proud our younger selves would be of the people we've all become. Very cool that you got it signed by the artist and writer!

Over the weekend I finished watching the show, and then read the entire omnibus (first time reading the series) because I could not wait for a potential season 2 to know what happens. This is indeed a very memorable page you got there Marcus. Congrats.
