DescriptionWarlock centerspread from Super Spider-Man #185, 1976 by Mike (Nasser) Netzer and inked by Duffy Vohland. It was a Marvel UK reprint title that they made new covers, new splash pages for the reprint stories, and sometimes a fill in double pager illustration. They would print the pages horizontally across. This measures 11.5" x 28.75". If I remember right, I got this off eBay in 1999 for the princely sum of $55 (shipping included) from artist Mark McKenna. The back stamp says, The Titans #27, but thanks to Jason S who points out that this actually appeared in Super Spider-Man #185 which was also published in 1976. Should lengthwise horizontal double-page splash (LWHDPS) be a new category? Unique layout and very cool image!

Many congrats! The UK Marvel art is, in my view, grossly underrated even today. Yes, those were the days; sadly, they have faded into the mists of time.

Congrats, Marcus! That is one stellar (interstellar, even) image of Adam! Love the vertical stretch of the piece, and am surprised this size never caught on as publishing standard (no, I'm really not). Still fits (and, I'm sure, looks -sensational-) in a large Itoya! Beautiful piece, Marcus - great pick up (even in spite of the princely sum :) )! Congrats!

Wow, I've got great news for you, Marcus! At a 10% annualized compound return (the fair, expected return for long term investors), your investment should roughly double every 7 years. So with that in mind, today in 2023 this piece is worth $585.64! What's even better, is that instead of having to wait until 2027 for this sweet piece to be worth $880, I have a generous client who will give you that money TODAY, a full 4 years in advance! He'll even cover your PayPal fee. How's that for a rocking good deal?!? Call 1-800-you're-fucked to lock in this special offer TODAY!

Fondly remember the Marvel UK Titans series and the uniquely horizontal covers. Very timely with the MCU debut of Warlock. Congrats, Marcus!

Cool piece by Mike. I think he also did a Dr Strange in similar dimensions that has hit the market on occasion.

Not sure how rare these lengthwise horizontals are done, but we sure don't see them very often. You'd think that more artists would do it this way as they really make for a great visual. But I suppose it's not very practical from a publishing point of view. Strangely enough, I've actually had two. A cosmic characters gallery by Aaron Lopresti that I foolishly sold. And my Charest Wildcats promo poster piece. But this is probably the best one I've seen. The pose makes perfect use of the long horizontal format. And it's a wonderful stylistic tribute to Starlin. Really miss those days when you could get great bargain pieces on eBay. Anyway, would love to see this in person. Bring it over sometime.

I remember those times on Ebay. And I think how much beautiful art I could have bought with those "princely sums" and sadly I didn't 💩 Congrats on this spectacular piece!

Such a great piece, Marcus. Super cool the way it was drawn horizontally and a truly unique measurement. A beauty!

Happy I read the description. The title really through me off! Nice image. Having just seen GOTG3 - I wonder if MCU killed a promising character with a depiction that was not what many of us had hoped for. Doesn't stop us enjoying great art like this though!! Congrats!!

Really cool piece! You should frame it and put it over a doorway. How deep is your collection? Seems like we see the tip of the iceberg!

$55 will work :) Love how it's stretched across the 2 boards, and those inks must be so nice in person. Timely post as well with AW being introduced in the new GotG flick! Congrats, Dino!

High praise when you don't even use FALCON anymore and just designate it as a Dino! The Dino ate my baby!

Lol, my bad! "Word to the WAIse, K - not Dino!" Well, Marcus, it's a stellar piece, man. It's like Warlock said "I'm gonna make the most of this horizontal multi-board set up!" Congrats, Di...I mean, Marcus!

It makes me happy that this made it into a collection. :) I love how marvel, modifies, re-prints, and it's really sweet to get these pieces. Great find, Marcus! I would imagine a lot of them disappeared, and that is such cool big art. The white out galaxy edge was a great choice. Stellar!

The only cosmic goodness that you can get for $55 today is someone selling a photocopy of a Ron Lim page on eBay and advertising it as an official stat. Fabulous piece!

This is just breath-taking! And epic in size! It must be insane to see in person!!!!!! $55???? EBay just went public back then at this time. I am sure there were non-stop deals like this in those days. But this one is just incredible!

The comic world would have benefited from more Mike Nasser (nobody drew a sexier Black Canary).
