Description

From a show in around 1979. My brother and I waited in line forever to make sure we got to Adams, who was only going to do a few drawings that day. I was third up and I was sure everyone else would want Batman, and he'd be sick of it by then, but no, the first two guys wanted Dracula and Captain America. I was horrified when he started the first piece... he barely waved a pencil over the page before picking up the marker, and I thought we were all going to end up with unrecognizable rough scribbles. Instead, watching the final piece emerge was like magic, as Adams brought each piece to life with only the barest preliminary outline.

I'm not a big fan of posting sketches, but a few I have are from some prime eras by particular artists, so I bent the rules a bit.

It's amazing what he can do with a wave of the pencil and turn it into something amazing! Great score, and in the 70's! Great energy in Batman's face, love it!

Thanks for sharing. We are in the era of the great Neal Adams. The anatomy, body language and execution is exceptional. Surprising there are so few likes and comments.
