Description

I have had this artwork for awhile but the main reason I bring it up now is because of the rash of gay bashing and gay teen suicides in the news now in 2010. The anger that Kyle feels for his sidekick ( I like to think of Terry Berg as Kyle's sidekick) is the anger that most gay people feel now against all the senselss hate and violence against our brothers and sisters. Kyle stops short of being judge, jury and executioner even if he feels in his heart that these hate mongers don't deserve such mercy that they could not afford Terry.

I am not for violence to combat hate but what this page means to me is that each of those people who were harmed in the name of hate were someone's loved one...someone's brother, sister, family...and it's just natural to feel anger when your family has been harmed.

Kyle, as straight man, loves Terry...not in the way Terry wanted, but these scenes and many more from this beautiful issue just shows how much love Kyle had for Terry.

My hope is that with awareness and compassion that we can stop hate mongers....and save the Terrys of the world.

for Terry this was 2002 and now in 2010, he seems to be alive and well...my only hope is that one day he becomes the first gay Green Lantern !!!
