Description

I've always gladly collected preliminary drawings and studies, since I love to admire the creative process and I think that, sometime, a mere sketch reveals an artist's talent even more than a finished piece.
This is a huge pencil rough Massimo did in order to paint the striking image used as the cover for Conan the Barbarian #25 (Dark Horse Comics, Feb. 2014)

in sketches, you see a freshness, energy, and power that oftentimes is lacking in the final pieces... I'd say this is not the case with Carnevale's pieces (he's a true giant), nevertheless his pencil pieces are truly special and this is no exception
