Description

An early and arguably unpublished illustration by Comolo (b. 1961) in which you can already see many of the features of his mature work: great attention to detail, vivid unnatural colors, mixture of ancient and futuristic, connection/confusion between man and machine.
The more I look at this image, the more I find it really haunting and enigmatic. And not by chance it also pays tribute to Giorgio De Chirico and the Metaphysical painting.

Your description nailed it. I really dig the mixture of ancient and futuristic. And it's really neat getting his early work to see the style progression. Congrats!

Totally intriguing! The seemingly endless intricacy of mysteries gives the whole piece a genuine Renaissance flavor!
