i am not a superman fan- i'll admit that. i only bought that book since alan moore was the writer and george perez was going to ink it.............. but having said that- what a BRILLIANT story- everything good about comics is present in this story, i choked up when i read this book and particularly this page. good job, earl!

I have never commented on a Curt Swan piece before. Just generally not a big fan. But he outdoes himself here. A dispondent Superman sits amoung his trophies while Superdog looks on. Great composition. Congrats.

This splash shows the "man" in Superman like few other pages in his long and storied history. Cheers!

Amazing find. I really think this is my favorite comic page of all time. I had the comic scan as my computer wallpaper for years. This really captures everything there is to know about Superman in a perfect snapshot. I get a bit misty eyed whenever I see it. Congrats!

I love the page. It's a classic image. I always loved comic books, and was sucked into that world from the moment I first read Spider-man and Valkyrie in Marvel Team-Up, but I have to admit...it's funny seeing a comic book refer to its story as an imaginary tale. Not like all those true-life stories they've been publishing all along. Love it!
