I love it when people buy new art. No, really, I do. Not because of some kind of altruistic sense of joy I get from seeing happy collectors (though I admit that does give me warm fuzzies on some level), mind you. Mostly, it makes me happy because they often have to clear out really nice pieces out from their collections so they have the cash to snatch those pieces up...giving me the chance at some otherwise-unattainable, prime pieces!

This is how I managed to get my hands on this beauty. Fellow CAF member (and all-around gentleman and super-nice guy) Art Shotton was offering up pieces so he could buy a true grail piece (check his marvelous gallery out and I'm sure you'll see what I mean)...and I was lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time. I absolutely love Terry Dodson's style and I've always wanted a rendering of Kitty Pryde from him. I imagined myself having to try and get one from him at an upcoming con and realistically didn't see it happening anytime soon, though. But the one Art had was everything I would have asked for in such a commission and more, though...so I jumped at the chance to get it. Perfect! Kitty's rarely ever looked better, no?

I was truly sorry to see this piece go :(, but i think it's found a good home, where i am sure it will be looked after, besides, it's in good company :)
