Description

Backstory: In the later months of 2007 I looked to purchase some Superman/Batman pages by Michael Turner. A few pages were selected and I was asked (by Michael's art dealer) if I would like them signed. Naturally, I said yes. Days passed with no art in sight. After a period of time, I received an apology for the delay because Michael had been out of the office. I was asked what my favorite character was and I said Batman. (He is one of them) A little while later i received a package with the pages I purchased and this superb pencil piece was included. Given the events going on in Michael's life at the time, (a battle against cancer) the fact that he took the time to do this is beyond generous. Sad to say that Michael lost his battle with cancer in 2008. The business lost not only a great artist, but someone whose character could teach a few others in the business a thing or two.

Thank you so much for sharing. It is a beautiful piece and a wonderful story. I'll bet when you opened that package your face kind of looked like mine did when I got my Captain America sketch.
