Description

These images were created for a card game released in Italy in 1991 and based on popular sci-fi comic series "Nathan Never".
Nizzoli has painted all the playing cards, six per page, with great details and brilliant use of color. Every single panel is about 5,5"x 5,5" while the published cards image area is about 2"x 2".
I can't help but grab these pages, when available at fair prices, and this one is the 3rd I've acquired :) They're just great when seen in person!

Every piece is something completely unique in this world. Role playing card games were exploding on the scene and this looks to be an early one with setting the high standard of color art.

You can see how he works the different planes, the dynamism, the expressiveness, moments without movement, pin up,... And great colors!!.

I have to say the artist did a really good job drawing the pinstripe suits. It's a difficult thing to do.
