Description

Memorable page from the Black Freighter sequence, when the seller described it the bottom right panel, eating a seagull, was used to quickly say which one, and I clearly remembered it.

Not a key character page but, a welcome addition that checks a box in my collection.

A welcome addition indeed to a great collection of comic art!

I'm almost embarassed to admit to the 13yr old me skipped many back story and text pages the first time around as I just wasn't ready for the sheer amount of effort and time need to fully appreciate just how good Watchmen was/is (thankfully rectified once every couple of years now!)

Have to admit 'eating a seagull' would also draw me back to that final panel.

I've always wanted a page from the Black Freighter sequence and this one is one of the best. It was an unusual (well, then, anyway) bit of world-building, the comic inside a comic meta-commentary, that made Watchmen add up to more than the sum of its superhero parts.
