Description

This page marks the first posthumous appearance of a certain vegetative company-man in my collection - here's hoping it won't be the last (even though, chronologically, it is.) The real draw, of course, is the arrival of Lundy and his group of escaped experimentees. Tying with Peck as the shortest lived of any Bad Company member (he lasts two episodes), there's something oddly Jack Kirby-ish about Lundy's dynamic pose in this, his inaugural appearance. But the most exciting bit of this page, for me at least, are some notes in the margins which give names for two of the other characters! For a Bad Company fanatic like me, this is like finding the Dead Sea Scrolls, since neither character is actually named in the series. The chap to the left of Lundy is Willard, who surely must be named after Martin Sheen's protagonist in 'Apocalypse Now' (the film's an obvious and long-evident influence on Bad Co. - Kano even repeats the "horror" line early in the series.) The chap with the bat ears and the crutches (who Thrax kills later in the episode when said chap gets mutinous) is called Tyson. Modelled after Iron Mike? Maybe.

I do. The only reason it's not up yet, at time of writing, is because I want to do it justice in the accompanying description - give it a proper write-up as befits my favourite page.
