DescriptionOriginal color guide, hand painted by Burne Hogarth himself, over a black and white production print of his art (not the original black line art). The colors are vivid, bright and beautiful, displaying all the effort and care Hogarth put into them. Other Hogarth color guides have been purchased by the Louvre and the Smithsonian collections. This was painted 72 years ago, and used to create the Sunday Tarzan for December 29, 1940 (12/29/1940), one year prior to America's entry into WWII)Social/Sharing |
