DescriptionI'd been lucky enough to get an original Sal Rom a while back and I consider myself very lucky to have that. I was thinking recently, though, as I was reading a chunk of Roms that I should've asked Sal to include Rom's sidekick Torpedo (the former Daredevil villain). While I was rolling around the idea in my head I read an interview with Sal where he mentioned that even though he retired a few years ago he still enjoys working, basically as Ron Frenz' inker. All that came together, with the gracious help of Scott Kress over at Catskill, in this great, great piece. I love how towering Rom. Something that gets lost sometimes. And Rom couldn't be more classic here if Sal penciled it himself. Plus I really like the pose Ron chose for Torpedo. A really nice way to show what can be a boring costume.Original size 11x17 Social/Sharing |

Very cool, funny I was just thinking about both these characters alot. I was pissed they had Torpedo killed off by the gruesome dire wraiths! Why Rom: Spaceknight hasn't been a movie already is beyond me. I mean it's Gort in Invasion of the Body Snatchers. But with much more nasty invaders. Love this piece! Congrads!

Love this! I'm a huge ROM fan since childhood and I remember reading the entire run on some long weekend on the couch- until I got to issue 50 where the Torpedo is murdered and has his brain sucked out by a Wraith!
This is a great pinup of the doomed hero and the incomparable ROM: Spaceknight!
