Description

This cover painting for the Inhumans Graphic Novel is watercolor and gouache on illustration board. I had a lot of fun designing Medusa's hair into a pleasing, expressive shape, and trying to convey both tenderness toward her baby and fear of the council in her facial expression--while still looking heroic and beautiful, of course. This image feels so quiet compared to the intensity of color possible with digital techniques now--it looks like (and is) an antique from another era.

Truly magnificent painting ! I've just reread the novel and was thinking about this cover... It's a pleasure to see it in it's original form. Thanks for sharing !
