the first page in my book from mid 77 at a NY comic show. I had worked for Alfredo the year before and gave him 20 bucks to do this telling him forget Conan do a Franklin Booth thing. He spent most of the day on it. What a guy. I loved talking illustration with him in the wee hours while we inked

Beautiful! Alfredo could sure work magic with his brush. Like yourself, I was able to spend time with Alfredo at a number of NYC cons in the mid-70s. He was a great guy and a great artist!

Alcala was one of the best at making good artists even better. And was just pure talent on his own.
